Transparency & Disclosures

At Texcellent, our goal is to provide educational resources that help the tax preparer community explain education-related tax credits more clearly and confidently. Because the platform includes educational content and may in some cases involve organization-supported outreach or awareness initiatives, we believe it is important to be transparent about how the site works.

Educational Use Only

The content on Texcellent is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. This includes videos, flyers, guides, articles, summaries, links, and other materials made available through the platform.

Our content is intended to help explain tax-related concepts in a general way. It is not tailored to any individual taxpayer’s specific facts, circumstances, or filing position.

No Tax, Legal, or Professional Advice

Texcellent does not provide tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, financial advice, or any other form of individualized professional advice.

Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a recommendation about what any taxpayer, tax preparer, enrolled agent, CPA, attorney, or other user should do in a particular situation. Any taxpayer considering a tax strategy, donation, filing position, or related action should consult their own qualified professional advisor before making a decision.

Role of Tax Professionals

Texcellent is designed to support, not replace, the role of tax professionals.

We believe tax preparers, enrolled agents, CPAs, and other qualified advisors remain the central professionals responsible for helping taxpayers understand how general concepts may apply to their individual circumstances. Our materials are intended to make certain topics easier to explain, not to substitute for professional judgment.

Business Model & Outreach Disclosure

Trust and transparency are important to Texcellent. For that reason, we want to clearly explain how Texcellent’s model works.

Texcellent creates educational materials designed to help tax preparers explain state and federal education-related tax credit programs more clearly to their clients. These materials may include explainer videos, flyers, guides, summaries, FAQs, links, and other client-friendly resources.

Texcellent’s educational materials are made available to tax preparers at no cost.

In some cases, Texcellent may work with selected Scholarship Granting Organizations, School Tuition Organizations, or similar approved organizations on paid outreach or awareness initiatives related to education-related tax credit programs. These arrangements may help support the development, maintenance, and continued improvement of Texcellent’s educational materials.

As part of these outreach or awareness initiatives, Texcellent may include or share direct links to the applicable organization’s website or donation page. These links are provided so that interested taxpayers may learn more about the organization or make a donation directly to that organization.

Any donation made through such a link is made directly to the applicable organization, not to Texcellent. Texcellent does not receive, hold, collect, or process charitable donations intended for any Scholarship Granting Organization, School Tuition Organization, or similar organization.

Tax preparers remain fully independent in deciding whether and how to use Texcellent materials, whether to share any links, and whether to discuss any education-related tax credit opportunity with their clients. Taxpayers remain free to evaluate any eligible organization of their choice and should consult their own qualified tax professional before making any tax-related decision.

Texcellent’s compensation from selected organizations should not be interpreted as individualized tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, a guarantee of tax benefit, or a statement that any organization is the best or right choice for a particular taxpayer, tax preparer, or situation.

Texcellent’s role is educational and outreach-related. The taxpayer’s own qualified tax professional remains responsible for helping the taxpayer understand how any general information may apply to the taxpayer’s individual circumstances.

Organization Relationships

Texcellent may work with selected organizations that serve or seek to reach taxpayers and tax preparers in connection with education-related tax credit programs. Some of these relationships may involve sponsorships, awareness campaigns, outreach support, link sharing, or other commercial arrangements.

We believe these relationships should be presented transparently so users can distinguish between general educational content and organization-supported initiatives.

Outreach and Awareness Initiatives

In some cases, Texcellent may conduct outreach or awareness initiatives on behalf of selected organizations in connection with education-related tax credit programs.

Any such relationship should not be interpreted as individualized advice, a guarantee of quality, or a statement that any organization is the best or right choice for a specific taxpayer, preparer, or situation. Users should independently evaluate any relevant organization and consult their own qualified advisors.

No Blanket Endorsement

The appearance of any organization, STO, SGO, service provider, link, or other third-party reference in Texcellent content or outreach should not be interpreted as a blanket endorsement by Texcellent.

Users should conduct their own due diligence before relying on or engaging with any third party.

Certification and Eligibility

Where Texcellent refers to STOs, SGOs, or similar entities, our intent is to refer to organizations that are represented as certified, approved, eligible, or otherwise authorized under the relevant state program or jurisdiction, where applicable.

However, Texcellent does not guarantee the continuing status, eligibility, approval, certification, or compliance of any such organization. Those matters may change over time and may vary by state or program. Users are responsible for independently verifying current status before taking action.

Fairness and Transparency

Texcellent seeks to maintain fairness and transparency in how educational content and any organization-supported initiatives are presented. Because some organizations may support the platform through sponsorships, outreach-related arrangements, or link-sharing campaigns, users should understand that certain activities may reflect a commercial relationship.

For that reason, we aim to:

  • clearly distinguish educational content from organization-supported initiatives
  • identify sponsored or compensated relationships where applicable
  • avoid presenting paid outreach as individualized recommendation
  • preserve user choice and independent judgment

State-by-State Variation

Programs involving education-related tax credits, STOs, SGOs, and similar entities can vary significantly by state.

The rules, deadlines, eligibility requirements, and program structures may differ by jurisdiction. Users should not assume that a rule described for one state applies in the same way in another. Users should independently verify all applicable state-specific rules and requirements.

Third-Party Websites and Links

Texcellent may include links to third-party websites, organizations, donation pages, or resources for convenience and as part of outreach or awareness initiatives.

Texcellent does not control and is not responsible for the content, claims, availability, policies, or practices of third-party sites or organizations. A link to a third-party site does not by itself constitute an endorsement of all content, services, or representations made by that third party.

Independent Decision-Making

All decisions regarding tax strategies, donations, filing positions, or engagement with any organization should be made independently by the taxpayer and their own qualified advisors.

Texcellent provides general educational content and may support certain awareness or outreach efforts, but it does not direct, require, or determine the decisions of any user.
