Louisiana Tuition Donation Credit (TDC) Program
Louisiana’s Tuition Donation Credit (TDC) Program is one of the most powerful education tax credit programs in the country, allowing any individual or corporation that pays Louisiana income taxes to redirect a portion of those taxes directly to a School Tuition Organization (STO) that funds private school scholarships for low-income K-12 students. Donors can redirect up to 100% of their estimated Louisiana income tax liability and earn a 95% state tax credit on the amount donated — meaning for every $100 directed to an STO, the donor receives $95 back as a credit against their Louisiana tax bill. The credit is nonrefundable, and the amount equals the actual portion of the donation used by the STO to fund scholarships, not including administrative costs.
